Walney Island

The Promenade

Walney Island is just off the coast of Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria. It is a tiny Island and separated just over the channel from Barrow, it reigns as the largest English Island in the Irish sea!

But, what I love the most about Walney Island is the sunrises and sunsets, it is always a break-taking sight, as you watch the tide come in or go out, you realise that this Island is really a little piece of heaven. I often bike around the Island, walk and even run across the beach, it is peaceful, tranquil and is just over the bridge to another town.

It is the perfect place to relax, forget about your troubles and just enjoy the view. There are different corners to explore, whether that be Biggar Bank, West Shore or North Scale, each has its own merits. I'd like to share just a few pictures I have taken within the month of being here, I'm afraid they are taken with a phone and aren't the highest quality, but overall, still stunning.
